A Case of Facial Teratoma in the Newborn

Abstract

|
|
Although teratomas usually occur in the midline, they can rarely develop in other area such as in the face. Now, we report a case of teratoma arising the right side of the face in the newborn.
The mass measured 16 by 13 cm in size and showed irregular and nodular appearance. On roentgenological examination, few calcified areas were noted within the mass.
On 12th hospital day, complete surgical excision was done and discharged without other complications.
A brief review of literatures was also presented.
